Education Programs 

The SPEC is now built and training of staff and student (local and international) in progress. 

In June 2022, we have collaborated with Kampala University, Uganda - Environmental Science faculty - to run 2 month internships for 8 university students engaging in cross-learning experience with our Green Team. Greg Knibbs is monitoring the program with on-line tutorials daily.

This collaborative learning will further resource our Green team for local and international Permaculture Design courses we are starting this year at Rainbow Ridge and on local properties.

Given that one of permaculture’s main principles is “cooperation not competition”, ongoing teaching will be designed to ensure new and existing students learn/practice techniques together so that collaboration becomes the norm in design and resource use for the benefit of all. This will increase and widen their levels of social responsibility toward community issues including sharing knowledge, orphan care, woman empowerment etc.
